Roastmaster Solutions started with a conversation on a roasting course. Ashley Poole — a commercial gas engineer of fifteen years — and Jamie Banwell — a specialty coffee professional of twenty years — realised they were looking at the same problem from opposite ends. Nobody in the UK was bringing both disciplines together properly. Roastmaster Solutions was created to address that.
Coffee roasteries have specific, complex engineering and compliance needs. Very few fully qualified engineers are dedicated to meeting them. That needed to change.

Ashley Poole
Commercial gas engineer with fifteen years of experience before he fell in love with coffee. Ashley came to the London School of Coffee to learn more about coffee and roasting. That course changed his life — he left with the idea for a new kind of engineering business. Today he leads all gas installation, servicing and compliance operations at RMS, bringing the same engineering rigour to every roastery he works in.

Jamie Banwell
A MEng Civil Engineering graduate of UMIST and Q grader, Jamie has twenty years experience in specialty coffee, including roasting equipment distribution and commissioning across the UK and Europe. His experience of judging many national roasters and barista competitions means he brings a level of coffee and production expertise rarely found in engineering. That combination is at the heart of everything RMS does.
